About Me

My name is David Edward Khan. I am a 41-year-old webmaster/ digital marketer/ and a graduate with Master's in Business Administration with a concentration in Conflict Resolution. I have worked in a variety of roles in my civilian career including Help Desk support, Hardware repair, Supervisor of configuration technicians, Senior Technical Information Specialist and Social Media Strategist.

I have been in the Navy/Navy Reserve for 20 years and have attained the rank of Naval Aircrewman (Mechanical) Senior Chief Petty Officer. I'm assigned to a squadron at NAS North Island, CA. (Yes, it is a heck of a commute from KS to CA but you have to go where the advancement potential is).
Some of my major accomplishments during my career include being selected as the Bluejacket of the Year for the base for Fiscal Year 1998, earning a second Navy Achievement Medal in 2000 and after returning from being mobilized during the Operation Iraqi Freedom, I was awarded my third Navy Achievement Medal in 2003. In 2007, I was selected as Sailor of the Quarter (2nd Qtr CY06) for Fleet Logistic Support Squadron Five Nine. In the fall of 2007, I transferred to Fleet Logistic Support Squadron Five Seven. In the summer of 2008, I was selected and inducted as a Chief Petty Officer and continued to serve as a Division Chief until 2010 when again, I was mobilized for active duty in support of Operations Nobel Eagle and Enduring Freedom. My performance during that period resulted my receving my first Navy Commendation Medal.

So what do I want to do with all that education? Well the typical question is 'So are you gonna go get your PhD?' And I can say that my typical response is "Sure, if you're willing to pay for the tuition!" But more realisticaly, my long term ambition is to be selected to the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer.

Here are a couple pictures of myself in my various parts of Naval career.
